MVO Platform Assembly
An MVO Platform Assembly is held four or
five times a year. During these meetings, information is exchanged, positions
are formulated and lobbying and other activities are discussed.
Working groups
In the thematic working groups, positions and lobbying agendas are prepared.
The MVO Platform has the following working groups:
- working group on sustainable procurement
- working group on transparency and supply chain
responsibility
- working group on regulation
- working group on financial institutions
- working group on CSR & trade (a
cooperation between the MVO Platform and the Coalitie voor Eerlijke Handel
Workshops
The MVO Platform organises a workshop
approximately 3 times a year on a current CSR subject. In most cases, these
workshops are open to external interested parties. On 17 June 2008, the MVO
Platform organised the workshops ‘sustainability systems’ and ‘sustainable

Spreading the joint vision / positions
CSR Reference Framework
The MVO Platform developed the CSR
Frame of Reference in 2002, and a new version was issued in 2007. The
CSR Frame of Reference maps out which international treaties and other agreements
can lead to social obligations and responsibilities of companies. Read more

Debates
The MVO Platform organises a public debate
each year on a current subject, in which representatives of NGOs, the business
community and the government are involved. As part of the Globalisation series,
the MVO Platform, together with De Balie, organised two debates on the theme of
chain responsibility and transparency. You can watch these debates on the

Political lobbying
The main lobbying subjects of the MVO
Platform are regulation, sustainable purchasing and transparency & chain
responsibility. The MVO Platform closely follows developments in these areas.

-> At the European level
The MVO Platform was joint founder (2006)
and member of the European Coalition for the Corporate Justice (ECCJ). The ECCJ
is a CSR coalition at the European level. Its members are national CSR networks
from 16 European countries. The MVO Platform carries out lobbying at the
European level via the ECCJ. For more information, see the website of the ECCJ.
-> At the international level
In order to promote cooperation and coordination at the international level, the MVO Platform organised the CSR World Wide Week in 2004 at 2008. CSR experts from social organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America took part in this conference week.
