Corporate Social Responsibility: perspectives from the South
They flew in from Mexico, India, Argentina, Angola, Pakistan, South-Africa, Brazil, Macedonia, Nigeria, Indonesia, Nepal, Kenya, Chile and Tanzania. Eighteen experts from civil society organizations in three continents were invited to come to The Netherlands to shed a light on the role companies play in their societies. This publication is meant to circulate the ideas of civil society organizations from Africa, Asia and Latin-America on the role business can and should play in their societies. The representatives all come from countries that produce goods that are consumed in the North. They have different ideological backgrounds and different perceptions on CSR, but their opinions and experiences are indispensable for Northern policy makers, advocacy groups and companies who feel compelled to play a part in making businesses into good corporate citizens.
