Gisela ten Kate specialises in research and analysis on the sourcing of minerals from conflict-affected areas, the increasing buyer power of large supermarket chains, and on socially responsible public procurement. Gisela works closely with Electronics Watch, an independent monitoring organisation helping public organisations source socially responsible IT products. Gisela also coordinates SOMO’s work on supply chains in the garments, electronics, pharmaceutical and food and agriculture sectors.
Before joining SOMO, she was a political assistant in the European Parliament.
Gisela studied European Policy with a minor in International Development Studies in Amsterdam and Zürich.
